This function test involved the review of the CNC machined bedded action (seamless), a CNC machined proprietary barrel tensioning device (fully adjustable), trigger group ergonomics and an attempt at a flared mag. well for an aluminum, :canadaFlag:-made, EBR-style rifle stock.

The test was deemed successful March 3 2010.

Obviously, in the next few months, you'll see a completely different profile of the "aluminum block" prototype. The block serves to test 3 core areas for functionality only.

Special thanks to Lazerus2000.

Nice, thanks for you info!
Any plans for shave little weight here and there?
Can't wait to see the finished products!;)

There is a plan to reduce unnecessary appendages under the rear of the lower receiver as it bridges the magwell forward. We think there is room for that. It seems to me and other machinists that not a lot of critical thought has gone into the removal of material, but don't get me wrong here: there is much that has and can be improved.

update photos ...
the project to create the ultimate Aluminum M 14 EBR stock continues.

The picture below shows the bottom full length picatinny rail that is incorporated into the forearm.

One other built in picatinny rail will be on the top of the hand guard, with two more short removeable rails at the sides of the hand guard.

I know you're not done yet, but IMHO that stock could be significantly lightened with ventilating cuts and lightening milling to the areas away from where the hands rest.

Looking good so far :)

Are you going to go with an AR butt, or a sage-type telecoping butt with integrated cheekpiece?

That looks promising, although a cheese grater forearm doesn't serve a very useful purpose in a battle rifle, since it has to be covered to avoid damage to the hands. A more useful feature would be a short picatinni rail near the front, for a bipod or light.

How are you going to make the stock accommodate the many variations in the machining tolerances of the receivers?

LTR, you're from victoria, I presume thats you shooting it? Doesnt look like malahat range, maybe saanich? ....I would love to have a look at that stock. Was eyeing up troy stocks pretty hard, but damn, something local would be sweet.

Does it "ping" like the fiberglass stock's or is it so rock solid there is no vibrations? Also Lazerus2000 what is the goal wieght on this rig going to be? I am really liking the proto type so far;)
Keep up the nice work and will be paitently waiting for a look see on the final result.

Feel free to design, test and build your own M14 stock then :p :D

I figure if people are willing to pay big monies for the Troy stock, a better made "Canadian version" hell, I'd put my money into that if it met my needs :)

<currently eyeing up the offerings from M14Doc and This one ;)>
