Funker Tactical & Hungry M14 Episode (First one anyways)

Fantastic Video Guys!!! Barney your such a fantastic wealth of knowledge, thank you as always for shareing it with the rest of us. I'm really looking forward to the next video you guys put together.

Keep up the great work.

Oh Mr. Barney - you were a celebraty of enduring fame even before the vids! You continue to inspire M14 fans with your good karma both off screen and now on screen too. Bravo my man!:)

You are gonna need BOTH because many of you took my advice the first time around....

Don't buy ONE !!

Buy TWO of them!! :nest:

Okay, seriously, buy either version, the fluted one has some LCF (looks cool factor), I just use whatever is on hand. I got no scientific explanation / reason / answer/ advice for or against the fluted except for the weight savings (an ounce?). Right now, I'm running a Sadlak NM op rod spring guide to see how well it works and I'll be teaching with the Sadlak when I hit the road out west in 3 weeks...

Barney

I was thinking of getting the badger ordnance

I was thinking of getting the badger ordnance

Once you go with an american sourced op rod spring guide on your Norc/Poly, then you need a USGI dimension/pattern spring, either USGI original (likely used) , Wolff extra power spring from Brownells + $$ 25 for shipping the one spring ...

Or you can buy a USGI pattern spring that I bring to the clinics for the sky high overprice of $ 11.00 (yes, mailed to you for that high price) :nest:

The Badger/Sadlak/Smith Ent guide will not fit inside the chinese springs, It's a Zhinese Konspirazy  Not really, it's just the chinese springs have a smaller interior diameter. Nothing fancy!

Hope this helps! Cheers,
Barney

That was the best firearm video I have seen. That was better, more informative and more entertaining than any of the american shows. You can watch 6 hours of a lot of the big "sponsored" shows and learn absolutely nothing. I am new to m14s and this was a great intro. Wow. I usually like to make sarcastic remarks, but I have nothing but respect for this production. Fantastic.

Hungry, I have watched this vid about 6 times now, and just bought my first m14. It already has a NEA oprod and extended mag release in it. Any other upgrades I should get to make it more versatile? Was thinking of replacing the upper foreend with a railed system to mount a eotech for hunting. What do you recommend?

Lots of practice ammo now! Get out and shoot that baby in different positions, stay away from the 100 yard line/bench. Shoot standing, kneeling, prone, modified prone, sitting, squatting, etc. Sounds like the hardware you have is fine and upgraded. Got decent sights?

Shoot it lots and then look into the upper forend for that rail and mount that eotech!

That help things?

My feedback
I'd like to know what you think first...
But having said that here is my feedback...

WHAT WORKED WELL:
- Very carefully considered and well presented oral information
- Love the 1 PPCLI arm patch
- Good cinematography
- I very much appreciate the self imposed "For Inspection Clear Weapons" portion. Very impressive - we don't see enough of that. In fact, I think this is the first time I've seen someone do that in a youtube video. Mental note - Good idea for future vid uploads... Promotes safety and sets a good example.

TRICKY
25m targets?

DO DIFFERENTLY?
More Barney Instruction & Less 1950's era historical references (in a short video - jam pack it with relevent "Everything you need to know" info)
What kind of 7.62 M1A / M14 performance can be expected outside the effective range of the 62gr 5.56 NATO.
More time devoted to the topic - vid was too short (we love this stuff)

I know you could have imparted more knowledge & wisdom in this short video.

Having said all of that
Really well done
Very entertaining fun video
OK I watched it three times
