Picked up a used savage 111 in 300 WM and decided I'd give my hand a try at beautifying it to my tastes.

First order of business... Sand down the seams along the entire stock.

Wish I took more pictures along the way, but I got caught up smoothing out the rough spots with fine grit paper and acuff pads etc.

Anyways, I had bought a DIY hydrographic dip kit and decided to put it to good use! Here is the end result:

what hydro dip kit did you use? do you clear coat it after?

I used two layers of clear coat on this particular application. I haven't been doing it long enough to give authorative perspective on longevity tbh. However, prior to buying the kit, I did some research and all the firearm related usage seemed to have great results. The kit I used was From http://www.mydipkit.com/ ... This will be my hunting rifle this season and I'll see how well the coat holds up
