Bad example IMO or it sure didnot work for him to get to see old age
Cheers

He's a great f#cking example!

That's the price, 3macs1. That's what most today won't risk. Only what's in it for them. Agree or disagree with MLK, he stood up for what he believed in. More gun owners need to do the same.

Yes let's give our life so we can keep our semi auto shotguns guns which is what we are talking about here. Please don't go down the freedom road here or it is the principal BS
You have your opinion I have mine on the example which I am sure is quite different me being a southern yank. I will leave it as that

Once again don't go with the flow and agree and the flaming starts.
Too bad we cannot FOCUS on the ENEMY not another gun owner with a nice collection of various makes of semi's shotguns included and a different opinion
Cheers

3macs1, what do you suggest we do?
- Keep bending over?

In what kind of stupid world do you want our kids to live in? My grandfather, his brothers and friends paid a pretty heavy price. Like f#ck I'm going to let it go to waste...

The world is F'ked already IMO but that is another matter
On suggestions I have been looking for that answer for 50 plus years and have no idea what we can do in canada to stop this firearm BS. I sure wish I did but not following laws whatever they are is not for most
Glad to see your family served but being a yank don't think for one minute mine didnot do more than their fair share two grandfathers in WW2, uncle in nam and family in desert storm
Don't try to link potential round limits etc on a semi shotgun or banning some of them to that

Geeze canvasback - it's a hobby! Someone willing to die for their guns is a strong argument FOR gun control. You aren't helping our image.

For you it may be a hobby, for others it’s much more than that. For a lot of people it’s way of life, spending time in the bush or at the range with friends and family shooting or putting food in the freezer is not just a “hobby” but something to fight for.

I'd say you don't get it.

It isn't the guns so much as what removing them signifies. The absence of property rights, the loss of freedom, the intrusion of the state into all aspects of our lives. The lack of personal responsibility or the acceptance of consequence for one's actions. You've lived an easy life, comparatively to every single other person who ever lived in the history of the world and you have no idea how it came about.

It's a sad state of affairs that our country is dominated by people who think like you. Because very shortly, you will be told what to think and there will be unpleasant consequences if you don't. PC is just the start.

I'd say you aren't helping our image by not knowing what is important in life and how dictatorial and oppressive government comes about.

LOL, Rob, I don't know how you did it but when I quote your post, it says I'm quoting me.

Here we go just like I said. Unreal the BS
MY Freedom I will put my life on the line, additional potential controls on my semi shotgun are you F'n nuts
Here is what you don't get. You are in Canada not the hills of west virginia where I was hatched and be very careful what you wish for

Cheers

3macs1, I don't know what you call flaming, but I don't call disagreeing with you "flaming". And there is nothing wrong with disagreeing in a conversation.

I think we are at the point we are at because gun owners have looked out for themselves only, to the detriment of owners of other types of guns.
I think we are at the point we are at because gun organizations have been too busy claiming turf and fighting battles to see who gets to be dominate than to suck it up and find a way to be one voice.
I think we are at the point we are at because gun owners have been cowed by progressives into buying the line that we should be embarrassed by and hide our hobby.
I think we are at the point we are at because gun owners have allowed police to treat us as criminals in waiting.

So, I disagree with you and I am flaming you.

You disagree with me and I'm spouting BS.

I like how you think. Bwahahaha!

We were at that point many years ago and I agree but civil uprising is only going to get the few that would even participate jail time and NO guns

The fact that you don't see the link is exactly why we have lost so many "privileges". Too many people who think like you. "Not my problem." "Not important enough".

Who said anything about a civil uprising? MLK advocated against violence. Not his fault he was murdered.

I do, and have on every post in this thread, advocate for all gun owners to recognize the existential threat posed by the anti gun lobby and to put aside minor differences to speak, as a potentially large special interest group, in a consistent and forceful manner and decry the intrusion of the state into the affairs of peaceful and law abiding citizens.

canvasback, I'm already being told what to think - by you. I doubt my views are in any way part of a majority (except that I probably fall somewhere in the middle) - but that doesn't mean I'm going to advocate for you - or for Wendy. I'm not so self centered and entitled to think that my views should be shared by anyone else. We get a chance once every four years to vote for those views. I fear that we (yes we) are going to lose again. :(

Agree with you 100% on this .The issue is HOW. Like I said 50 plus years I cannot find an answer to make that happen nor has anyone else . If they did we would be there long ago

I remember in the late 60's almost getting tarred and feathered when I was heavily involved in this fight bill 150 or something like that and suggested. Canada wide gun owners should form one gun org and every club must make it mandatory that you are a paying member of this club to shoot as well as every hunter must join also to get a hunting licence. Get your NRA ass back to the US I was told. How dare I impact their freedom. Talk about getting hit with your own bag of crap 50 years later

Yep we would be a many million strong now I would say, with one voice and not worried about gun control since government would be listening to us not laughing at us

Wrong Rob. I actually didn't tell you what to think. I laid out what I think and how I think your thinking, as you have stated it here, is wrong. Big difference. I have no ability to coerce you.

Soon however (it's already started) the coercive state will use it's powers of persuasion to get you and everyone else in line. And at some point, most will wonder "how did we get here?" I'm sure many Venezuelans are thinking that just now.

Well, perhaps what was missing from your 50 years of wondering how, was a commitment to making it happen, even if it came at some cost to you.

Edit.....still don't understand why the quoting function is messed up for all of us.
