As the draft states, consider road side hunting bans where desired by indigenous people . If your a yukoner and enjoy bear meat and bear hunting, get that grizzly hunt done in the next couple years.the writing is on the wall, within a few year grizzly hunting will be something only indigiones people will have the right to do.Then followed by one species after another

There is no shortage of grizzlies here, has nothing to do with harvest... similar to BC this decision will be based on public sentiment .

Decisions are made prior to the public meeting , so it's just to say they had the meeting . They don't really care who shows up.They will have a few meetings in a few communities.
It might be time for Yukon hunters to start an association that doesn't use government funding. Then they can stand up and actually oppose regulation changes that don't make sense or that have no basis in conservation or actual science .

the meeting went well and it will great for the bears not that much
for hunters. they are using the online feedback to collect ideas and
bringing back the idea of road side ban and seems one proposal has
already been received in that form for next year hunting law change (public meeting.)
whitehorse was not the last public meeting but haines junction will be
on monday the last.

there is 7 phases on this plan and hunting or harvest is only at the
4th place ... they are more worried that facebook can bring bad
feedback to the yukon ...

they have no scientist base, no actual survey no data but they will
rely on tradional knowledge and outfitters info ....end of december
that band of nice people not against hunting will give it to the gvt
and from there the gvt will announce in march the plan with no other
discussions ...

to sum up within 2 years grizzly hunting will be harder for local
hunters if any left.

they are worried about the number of tags sold for locals over 1600
this year despite a low harvest so they want to control who is buying (certainly a draw or more limitations)
and someone bring out the fact that people are buying tags just in
case to avoid the dlp hassle ... but in the mean time we took (local people)5 bears
in dlp while the co did 5 ...so again nothing based on asking all the grizzly tag buyers why they buy it ...

i will submit something about my thoughts and feeling but i do not
think it will change something but a lot of people came and it was not
anti crowd ...

do not forget submission dateline is the 3rd of december even if think it will not change anything at all.

i more worried that non of the hunters association were there to support hunting of the grizzly.

to sum up they want to advance what Ottawa can bring up for a specy at risk (COSEWIC) and in conclusion that plan doesnt mean that Ottawa will not come up with something else anyway ...

As a result, the data do not
necessarily represent the collective views of all
Yukoners. Because of this caveat we cannot use,
for example, the survey to draw conclusion
s
about how many Yukoners support a particular
management option. This is a key consideration.

for those that has been there yesterday i hope you hear the same as i ...

that sentence is coming from the review of the survey ...
