Eh... I've always been skeptical about anything shown on Futureweapons.
The tests they put the Heckler & Koch 416 didn't look so vigorous. When they fired it 'full of sand' when they 'buried' it (for about four seconds) the bolt was closed and the magazine was fully inserted. When they fired it 'full of water' the water looked as clean and clear as bottled water (something I doubt you'd see on the battlefield) and again the bolt was closed. Then they showed shots of them shooting it. And then they showed cool shots of soldiers advancing with it while playing cool-sounding progressive rock music in the background for the rest with some guy with a cool announcer voice speaking over it. That hardly sounds like a true test of the rifle's capabilities, more like some lame TV show.
Call me a skeptic, but that's what I am.

shots or pints, either way, you're not gonna feel pain by the end of an hour episode, whether by screw-ups, or each time he mentions he was a seal!
Well, I guess you're right about that, although I figured, well, maybe if the soldier is reloading while prone and in a windy, dusty desert that might be one scenario that might be a problem. Why would a weapon be carried with the bolt open and magazine out in combat?? The tests are conducted under simulated conditions as the weapon would be used in combat. Every manufacturer sand/water tests their weapons like this as that is the condition they are meant to be carried in. As for water it doesn't matter if it's clean or not the idea is for the water to fill in the usually empty spaces of the weapon and to displace some of the lube used. As for the flashy production well that as they say is hollywood.
I believe this show has been cancelled.
