FutureWeapons - LWRC Rifles

"Instead of trying to build newer and bigger weapons of destruction, we should be thinking about getting more use out of the ones we already have."

Eh... I've always been skeptical about anything shown on Futureweapons.

The tests they put the Heckler & Koch 416 didn't look so vigorous. When they fired it 'full of sand' when they 'buried' it (for about four seconds) the bolt was closed and the magazine was fully inserted. When they fired it 'full of water' the water looked as clean and clear as bottled water (something I doubt you'd see on the battlefield) and again the bolt was closed. Then they showed shots of them shooting it. And then they showed cool shots of soldiers advancing with it while playing cool-sounding progressive rock music in the background for the rest with some guy with a cool announcer voice speaking over it. That hardly sounds like a true test of the rifle's capabilities, more like some lame TV show.

Call me a skeptic, but that's what I am.

That's what I said. I saw an M4 put through a 1,000 round torture test that was a hell of a lot worse than that.

I take Future Weapons for what it is. Entertainment. I won't base a decision on what gun to buy next on what they do on that show. I'd rather talk to guys who know from first hand experience and/or technical knowledge. Plus I'd rather do my own research and read a little on what I want to buy or trade for.

I like the show myself. If they are going to cancel it that sucks. I guess it will make room for yet another home improvement show that my wife will love.:jerkit:

I emailed with them a few times and then they stopped responding when I asked about 10.5" and 14.5" ... even though their site mentions it. That place seems kinda shady to me.
