FV-SR...believe it or not.. :)

These bad boys are hard to find... I want to buy one, everywhere I looked they are sold out! Only one I could find seemed really over priced, which I suppose makes sense if they are so hard to find.

Use a small bottle like the one eye glass cleaner comes in, at some warm water and honey, mix well and keep warm.
Put up a plain piece of paper facing the sun, and spray it with your warm mixture.

This is two flies and I had six that day. Your target facing the sun helps. These flies were not bait except for the first one.

Nice! I'll keep that in mind. Problem is, in warmer weather....it's a constant fight with the goldenrod at my outdoor range. In the fall, fewer flies and dead plants. My cheap STIHL weed trimmer isn't up to the task of 5' high weeds, 8' wide path, 50 yards long. Did it this year...but I couldn't wait for the snow to do it. :)

You'd almost think the spots we shoot were right next to eachother. I had to abandon my shooting 'range' this year because I got put on light duties for a few months before my hernia surgery in June. Couldn't get out to keep up with the weeds and by the time I got back to normal in August the Goldenrod (and wild parsnip as I also discovered) were taller than I am. I seriously debated buying a flat of 12 gauge and seeing if that would take care of things. Even if it wouldn't, I would have had fun.

Damned goldenrod! I'm only 45 minutes north of the big smoke, so likely not that far from you. There were some tall stalks with small purple flowers on them that really punished the trimmer. Stalks were almost like wood, ended-up cutting those with a tree-branch pruner. Need a groundskeeper. :)

I'm just waiting until Giant Hogweed makes a bigger appearance...no good will come of that.

The Big Smoke? Toronto? That's one nickname I haven't heard before haha. I'm Cornwall area...so a good number of hours east.

Should perhaps post a "graphic" warning for the faint of heart.

Very nice shooting. I have done this a time or two myself. I was wondering if you recall how much you had to lead it at that distance?

Hope it doesn't make an appearance! Yikes..scary stuff. Only problems I've heard about are in the west end of the city, but I keep my eyes open for it. Yes....Toronto. "Big Smoke" is the what our family always called it but granted, I grew-up in New Brunswick. :)

Well, the little bugger was moving quickly on foot...must have known what was coming. :) Lead it approx 1/4", just so that I could see it to the bottom left of where the crosshairs intersect. Thanks for the compliment, but I think it was mostly luck. Fun, going to try to repeat it at the next opportunity, but luck I think.

Your post inspired me. :) I went big game hunting on the 25m range today with my Thureon in 45ACP. Bagged one dragon fly before I had to leave. :)
