Alright I know the manual and site explicitly states not to use aluminum ammo - just curious as to what people have experienced if they did get brave and run aluminum through their fx9?

I have 2k 9mm aluminum in the safe, and wondering if it's better to just try and sell it off rather than run it through my new toy and risk... ? case/head separation?

I think you will get a lot of people telling you "I do it all the time, no problems at all" but if you do in fact have a problem and have ignored the warnings from the manufacturer you really won't have a leg to stand on if you need support/warrenty etc. YMMV

Not recommended for any carbine really from what I've seen. Be interested in what others here have to say.

I'm in same boat, jumped on decent price deal err later in evening...shocked when I saw what arrived lol. Feed it through handgun if possible.

oh i see we made the same error... I didn't want to admit that. I, too, was up late shopping.... in MY defense, I bought the ammo before the FX-9, so I wasn't totally aware of the FX-9 restrictions on the aluminum.... but I still feel like a total buffoon for not being more scrutinizing of the 'deal' I jumped on.
Sure, I can run it in my handgun, but it doesn't make it sting less

Just going to throw this out there. I have ran it in FX-9, Jr carbine and ruger pc all without a single problem. Your mileage may vary.

Straight blowback guns often have issues with aluminum cased ammunition. The problems are such that it's probably wise to heed the warnings and just shoot steel or brass. Separations and KBs with 9mm are extremely annoying at best and damaging to your firearm at worst. At least you know for next time.

PCC’s tend to tear up the cases. I’ve see people at the range use it with no problems but there have also been some guys spending more time at the range or during a match digging cases out of the chamber. Not worth it in my opinion.

The head will separate and the case body WILL remain stuck in the chamber. I've had to help out a few club members extract a broken aluminum casing over the years that failed to head advice from both the manufacturer and more experienced carbine shooters. YMMV.....

Beyond funny that I also made this mistake, but again I also ordered the ammo before I found the rifle in stock and looked to deep into it lol..

Looks like I should have bought one of those 250$ 9mm the retailer had as well hahah
