Hey CGN, has anyone removed their flash hider from the FX-9 without using a vise? If so, what was the method you used? I've seen people just essentially sit on the firearm as a way of securing it, but I've always wondered if torqueing on the flash hider using this method would potentially cause any damage to the upper receiver.

It literally took me 2 sec on youtube. Folks seems to forget how youtube is fast and a good tool.

As much as I love snarky answers like this. I guess I should have been a little more specific, I have checked youtube already. My flash hider is on incredibly tight and I am slightly concerned with the amount of torque it will take to remove it

Remove the hand guard (three screw underneath) and clamp the barrel tightly in a vice with some padded jaws and remove the flash hider. Don't try just twisting it off because I guarantee something will bend, crack or break.

Look I edited it... Heat it up with a torche or induction, multiple layers of fabric on your vise should do the trick.

Ok, sounds like I should just get around to installing a vice. I kind of figured that would be the best solution, but thought maybe there was some other suggestions for ways I could get it done today real quick. Thanks for the replies
