Looking at buying a fx120 scale and was wondering if a check weight was required? If so what weight?

Also for now i will only be using dippers and a manual trickler until i save some more money for an autotrickler setup.

Any tips aor do's or dont's?

Thanks

It depends on what you are reloading for or are you weighing Eley Match? Not being familiar with the FX120 I checked the internet and came up with this site: http://balance.balances.com/scales/1223
My first press was a Pacific "C" press and it included a Pacific scale with I still have and use.
In the mid 80's a Rock chucker was an upgrade and now I have two. There is also a RCBS Scale and a Gempro to round out my scales.
When the above site was checked there was a Gempro there too. At $660 for the FX120i versus $170 for the Gempro 250
Everyone has a preference and there are some things you won't need but if one were to criticize any one brand over another your thread can turn into a pi$$ing contest!
Weighing powder to 0.1 of a grain in a 40 S&W, 22.250 or a 338 LM might not be necessary. Weighing Eley Match to 0.001 could be in the lubricant.

I've had one about 4yrs now and never calibrated it, no need for this application and if used properly.

Just watch for heat/humidity and that it isn't sticking.

the scales come calibrated from the lab. Using very precise weight that cost hundreds of dollars and can't be handle by bare hands or dropped. The check weight kit being offered by cambridge enviro (they sell the scale ad trickler kit best price available) does not have the lab grade class IMO to properly calibrate the adi120.
