FX9 Enhanced charging handle made in Kelowna

I've installed and it's not "gritty" like the other ones (original and "enhanced" from FO). I'll let you know how it works once I can get out to the range. Very pleased with the build quality though.

Hey Nickk,

I would also like to purchase one of your charging handles if you have any left. I also sent you private msg as well.

Thanks!

So I received my Charging Handle last week, Super fast shipping and I was very excited to receive it. I have been after this charging handle for some time now. Upon first inspection I could see that the craftsmanship is excellent. Nice milling, nice anodization, over all very good. Nick included a note suggesting that I oil the CH upon first installation. So I did just this, I oiled it up and slid it in. This is where my heart sank, it did not fit, just a little too tight. So I gave the FX9 a clean, and tried again. This time I was able to get it all the way in. This is where I became VERY confused. There was about 3/4" hanging out the back where the latch should meet the receiver. In all my excitement I didn't even bother comparing the rubbish stock CH to the new one. When I did I noticed the the new once was about 3/4" longer, with a large section forward of where it reaches the bolt. I was so confused. So many other Gun Nutters were going on and on about how the CH fit perfectly and how much they loved it.
What to do now?
I sent Nick a PM along with some pics of how the CH was fitting. I received a PM first thing in the morning "Call Me" it said, so I did. I have bought a lot of things from a lot of people and never have I had a response like this...
Nick told me right off the bat that he would send me my money back, pay for shipping, make me a new one or modify the one I had already received, what ever it took to make me happy. Outstanding!
Nick explained to me that I most likely have one of the earlier FX9's perhaps one of the first 30 to come into Canada, and those earlier models had a tighter CH channel but also the channel does not run all the way to the front end of the receiver. I told Nick that I would send it back to him.
The next day I received an email from his wife advising me that she had a prepaid label for me. So I popped it in the mail and began playing the waiting game. (PRO TIP: The waiting game sucks, play Hungry Hungry Hippos instead). Later that day I received a tracking number for a NEW CH. I had barely dropped the original one in the mail and this new and improved one was already on its way.
Well it arrived yesterday. I dropped it in, a little tight at first but a few cycles had it smooth as butter. I can't wait to have this thing to the range, it really makes a world of difference for the FX9. Both the stock and the "enhanced" CH's suck, the Nick CH is BOSS. I can easily smash it with the palm of my hand and not worry about the bell on my scope getting in the way. I will be adding a small strip of 3M rubberized tape on the left latch for a little added traction.

Over all I am very pleased and impressed with Nick and his wife Marcy. They have done an out standing job of taking care of their customer.

Thanks again Nick and Marcy!

I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

PS, Nick, you need a name for your charging handle.

Don't forget to validate your serial number here freedomordnance.com/product/fx-9-gen2-complete-upper/ to see if you have a GEN1 or GEN2 upper. There's a difference in nickk's charging handles based on the upper.
