Glocks are loved by some and disliked by others. I am in the middle. I went with the M&P over the Glock for only one reason I really disliked the grip on the Glock. I find the angle of the grip to be severe (More like a Luger than a 1911) and the humped back strap and my palm really never got along. The M&P grip, for me, was far superior. Everything else concerning the guns were awash.

All this brings me to the point of this post. Here are pictures of a modification to the grip completed by a friend of mine. He eliminated the hump and had more of an under cut done where the trigger guard meets the frame and then had the grip area `` stippled``. He also had the fron of the trigger guard rounded. Looks nice. This is his daily carry along with a 75D Compact.

First the gun stock:

The grip hump removed:

A close up of the undercut:

Tim claims the gun is much more comfortable to shoot now. The stippling was done by his `smith using a small soldering iron I believe.

I should add Tim has smaller hands to removing the hump and smoothing out the front strap helped him with his grip.

Not for everybody. Offensive to the purists but works for him. If I get down to Texas I will definitely try the gun out. There may one day to a Glock on my hip yet.

The Glock 19 "Gen3" can be supplied by Glock with a factory threaded barrel that meets Canadian requirements and comes with a polymer thread protector.

I guess I'm weird. I sold my M&P because I hated the way the grip felt and I kept my Glock because I like the grip. However I am glad that this works for him and I'm jealous he gets to CCW any pistol.

I'm both impressed at the effort and puzzled by the necessity, but whatever works. I don't speak of the stippling, because at least given my small sample size it seems every true doorkicker does that nowadays.

I'd rather just add on Talon Grips if needed. This way I can remove it if I sell the gun later and still retain the original frame and more resale value.
My sentiments exactly but to each his own and I doubt Tim cares much what others think. He does say the grip is so much better and I have to agree the grip is the worst part of using a Glock. Nowadays your reliability doesn`t sell...few guns aren`t and Glock is no better than many others in that regard. Glock armourers make a living too.

Bowie Tactical Concepts goes even further in the grip reduction to create a rear grip angle like a 1911.

Maybe it's just the picture/angle/lighting, but the undercut in the trigger guard looks very thin. The chances of it compromising the trigger guard may be low, but that would be really bad if it did.
Looks good otherwise.
