G 20 slide locking back.

Have a gen 3 that likes to lock the slide lock back with rounds still in the mag when shooting full power 10mm. Regular power 100% reliable.
- not bumping slide stop
- already bent spring on slide stop for more tention
- even replaced slide stop with another same problem.
- tried several mags, only does it with 1200fps 200TMJ

any help would be thankful.

thinking that the plastic frame is flexing too much
- load shows no pressure signs
 
I have experienced the same problem on my G20 but only since I changed to a s/s extended mag release.

I spoke to the manufacturer of the release and explained the problem to him. He said that they where working on a stronger slide release spring to cure the problem. In the mean time he suggested that I bend the spring in order to get more pressure. This helped a lot but I still do occasionally get the slide locking open when I'm shooting my top velocity loads as fast as I can shoot.

I have noticed some times that after several fast shots my thumb does accidently hit the slide release up still.

So I have started holding the gun even tighter than I would normally hold it. This seems to stop the release from bouncing up as well.
 
Do to the heavy loads that I shoot, I am using 22lbs and 24lbs Wollfe recoil springs in my G20 and 24lbs and 26lbs Wollfe recoil springs in my Colt Delta Elite 10mm as well. I also replaced my recoil guide rod with a non-captured one.

I have also installed a 5" KKM match barrel to support the top loads that I shoot and to be able to fire cast bullets without concern of lead build up in the barrel. I had a few to many Glock smilies due to the chamber of the stock barrel not being correctly supported. For Glock's the KKM barrels are a straight drop in barrel.

I am also looking at getting a heavier Wollfe striker (firing pin) spring to help with igniting the CCI #350 primers that I use in my 10mm reloads.

Even with the modifications that I have done I still get the slide lock popping up occasionally and locking the slide open.

In my 5" KKM barrel I am getting 1720fps with 135gr JHP's and 1280-1300fps with 190 Sierra FPJ's and 200gr XTP's.
 
I have replaced all of my mag springs with heavier Wolffe springs as well.

Didn't make a difference in slide locking.
