Was in Italian hunting Sport this morning, looking for some trade becasue of the annual sale. I was jump up to see G17 was $599 NIB. Needless to say a chunk of my bank account disappear:D M&P was $589 but not really my cup of tea. Now my new goal set on a 92F as my next. By the way they will close at five and you may want to hurry up.

Hmm, nice offer but only 50 bucks less. I'd rather spend another 50 and buy 'em at Armco or Questar and avoid that big fat jerk who ignores me or talks down to me every time I go in. :dancingbanana:

yah,,, i was there today too, AND i got a glock 17
i like the S&W M&P, but everyone else says glock is better
and the salesman i talked to was pretty nice

Good for you! Glock may not be a better gun than M&P, but for some reason which I am not quite sure, I just don't like the look and feel the grip of the M&P.

What a price!

Can I get a meal at Italian sport too? That place makes me hungry.
How to match an unbeatable price on a G17? What's not to like too? The G17 vs the M&P is just getting hotter too.
Being at the mercy of S&W by owning their proprietary design is not really that bad. Someone, somewhere will make accessories in a little bit. Forget target barrels for the near future until the patent runs out.
But, its parts-galore for the G17! And not little grip doohicky to lose when you take it apart.......

There are coffee and donut at that day:D And ofcourse my eye ball pop out for all the sale price. people just drop their green for guns like nothing. Now if you put M&P with G17 side by side, you will find M&P is more well made. I am not really is Glock lover but the other day I shot one at Abby, to my surprise that gun out shoot my 75B, What can I do:D

The grip on the M&P look very very contoured to the hand, something that glock doesn't do. I read a review of one on another forum and the guy was fairly impresed with it. I do remember him saying that the cycling of the slide felt 'rough' and that there were machining marks on the slide where it contacted the frame. He said it didn't affect the pistol at all, but he felt that they sorta cheaped out on the machining.

The glock slide/barrel is pretty much a perfect machine job, not a single bur or mark.

They could be giving stuff away for free and I still won't go near that place because of the fat jerk.

M&P's made better?

Well I think I'll still get a Glock over the M&P, ones got reputation as where the other was just born.
