Hey there. Considering these two. What are the pros and cons? Why should I get the one you prefer? Why should I stay away from the other?

Sorry but there is no right answer. All depends on purpose/use, your personal preference, possibly certain rules or regulations for the discipline in which you wish to participate. Do your homework. List out what each has going for them and how that plays into what you want out of it. Decide from there.

If you like polymer guns, both are very good. The Q has a better trigger and super short reset. Unsure about Gen 5 Glock mags but the Q mags are pricey and difficult to find consistently.

I honestly can’t recommend one over the other. I would pick Glock as I find the Q a bit funny looking. But that’s a personal taste thing!

I don't have a Gen 5 Glock, but I do have Gen 2, 3 and 4. I also have a PPQ M1 Navy. The Walther replaced my Glock as my go-to for IDPA and 3 Gun. I find it fits my hand MUCH better (I have small mitts), it is VERY accurate, and the stock trigger is as good as tricked out aftermarket Glock connectors.

The PPQ went toe-to-toe with Glocks on tortuous courses in the States. It is every bit as reliable.

The Glock does have one advantage: it is ubiquitous. You can find many holsters, people have mags to borrow at matches, etc.

Really you can't go wrong.

The PPQ for the trigger, the short reset and for its accuracy. The latter is scary for a $750 polymer pistol. Both guns are reliable as most guns are now. The Glock has more parts availability which can be an issue. PPQ mags are not cheap but neither are Glock mags. If you are not interested in competition then the two mags you get with a new purchase is all you will ever need anyway. The Glock Gen 5 is a older looking design with a new trigger group. The PPQ is relatively newer design. Walther puts a very nice tight well made pistol in your hands for a good price. It would get my nod.

Check out the HK SFP9... I own a Glock, PPQ Match and an SFP9.... Glocks are great and work everytime... but so does my SFP9 which has superior ergonomics and feels better than any pistol Ive shot in my hands.

I tried all three of those today. I liked the HK but the trigger had a bit of mush to it and wasn't as crisp as the other two. The PPQ was great in that regard but the grip was a bit small for my large hands. By small I mean short. My pinky was coming off of the bottom and I didn't like that. The G17 had the best of all worlds. Held more comfortably in my hand than either of the other two others.

I ended up keeping the hold on my G17 but I upgraded the package to the one with the metal AmeriGlo sights over the cheap plastic ones. I got two free mags on top of the three it comes with (Bullseye's Glock day about a week ago) so I ended up with five. That, and I got a bunch of Glock merch thrown in.

I'll likely end up getting a PPQ one day but not now.

I highly recommend that store by the way. Amazing people.
