G17 Gen4 - Gun light or heavy guide rod?

So I'm looking for some help making a decision and was hoping CGN could help with some input.

I have a G17 Gen4 and I'm looking to add some weight to the front end to make it a bit less snappy. I know, I know it's only 9mm, but still.

I am stuck between buying a light to add the weight OR a heavier tungsten guide rod. Pros and cons to both would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd vote for gun light, just because it's a lot more useful. On the other hand, a guide rod is probably cheaper, depending if you buy a cheapo light or something of quality.

Gun light. If all you aim for is a weight you don't have to worry too much on the light qty. Even the $100 USD tungsten guide rod is not that much heavier. If you use red dot may consider adding the Mako Picatinny rail mount with a red dot (heavy red dot is not hard to find...)? I found that combo is heaviest so far.

This is kind of the direction I was leaning in. Light adds weight and has a use. I think it'll be what I end up doing.

You'd probably like the feel if a Glock 22 with a 9mm conversion barrel. Has a little more heft to it than a Glock 17. But adding a light would help with your issue.
