To the OP... if you are even considering the GLOCK 19 at all... definitely get one. It is something that you will be taking to the shooting range with you week-after-week for as long as you shoot. Even if it is $200-300 more, you'll forget all about that in no time once you start shooting these awesome little guns that are so far superior in feel to your buddies (and zillions of other peoples) GLOCK 17's.
GLOCK 17's have "butt swell". If it fits somebody else's hand... great. I haven't the slightest interest in arguing with you. But GLOCK 17 is not a comfortable grip for me becuase the butt of the grip swells out into the palm of your hand as it gets down to the bottom of the grip. Even the "famous" Hickok45 from Youtube has commented on this as why he prefers the 19/23/26 and 27 over all the other GLOCKS. I agree. The 19 and 23 are all I care to own in GLOCKs at this point. The barrels do look weird on the 26 and 27, but you don't even notice it on the 19 and 23... unless you are stitting at the computer obsessing about barrel length. The barrel sticks out on all GLOCKs. On a restricted 19 it sticks out about 3.5 to 4 millimetres more. Millimetres folks. Just get one and stop thinking about it.

And it feels nothing like a G19 grip.
Wow, does Glock know this? My 10/15 pinned G19 mags must be figments of my imagination, huh?
Why? Some people do cut G17 grips down to the same length as the 19 and they work just fine. They don't feel the same as a G19, though.

I strongly agree.
I have owned a G17 and G34, I also have a G19, the G19 feels much different.
The Wolf barrel is good, I prefer the storm lake barrels that I ran in my 34, but I believe the Wolf barrel is a step up from the OEM glock barrel as you get better performance and the ability to shoot lead from the SS.
Many people find the G19 to be the more desirable of glocks, it is also one of the few easily converted prohibs as the barrel conversion is common and affordable. IMO if you get a G19, grab a TB, it kind of makes the extra length seem less ridicules.
Out of all the glocks I have owned, my G34 and G19 were my fav's, I sold the 17 weeks after owning it.
I like the G19 better - just feels better in my hand. Unfortunately, I seem to shoot better with the G17. Despite that, I've gone through several g17s, and currently own none.... but I have two g19s and a G23 in my safe!!

I know a lot of people who used to complain about the G17 are happier with the ability to change backstraps on the Gen 4. Try them on for size!

I had the G23 gen4 (.40 version of G19) and I have to say I prefer the feel of full size Gocks (gen4, don't care for gen3 at all).
btw don't bother with black Lone wolf barrel, the finish is crap. go stainless or IGB barrel if you want black - 100x better!

I agree with the stainless LW, the black finish on the LW wears off quick and looks like crap. IGB plasma finish is way better but good luck finding one. I don't think Sporteque is bringing them in anymore. I've been after them for almost 2 years to get a G19 barrel in for me. The 106mm barrel is not even listed on the IGB website anymore. I sent IGB a couple of emails and they don't even bother to reply. But the , Sporteque doesn't reply to emails either.
