Top pin of the G17 (3rd gen) is starting to walk after a couple hundred rounds. Does that mean the holes in the frame are getting bigger or the pin is getting worn out? Can replacement pins be bought or is it more a factory send back?

That's not right. I've got about 8k through my 17 in the last year, and the pins have never walked. Have you previously removed them for cleaning?

If I recall the spring for the slide release is in the groove on the top pin so the pin shouldnt ever be able to walk out too far unless the slide release spring isnt in the groove on the pin? Or is that the lower pin I am thinking of?

I believe the pins on my glock move a little too but nothing that I have needed to correct as of yet, although I do have spares in my parts kit just in case.

oh sorry what I meant was during a range trip this past weekend, my top pin (where the slide lock lever spring butts up against), started to walk left after about 300 rds. I was shooting a mix of from the bench, to holster to running course of fire. I just pushed it back in and continued.

I've got maybe 5-6k rds thru it so far. first time happening and kept happening, mm,, almost every 50 rds or so.

I'll check to see if I reassemlbed correctly, but there really isn't any brain into shoving the top pin in...insert the slide lock lever, and push in the bottom pin.

When you remove the pins in a Glock you definitely do not want the "tool" to be slamming into the holes as they drive the pins out.

Your problem is either:
-Incorrectly fit slide lock spring (it should be pressing against the top pin, not on top of it.)
-Oversized hole(s) *user error/abuse when stripping.

Yup, I've been using a punch tool to disassemble, not the glock one. I probably enlarged the holes. perhaps I can source larger diameter pins, and stop punching them with the tool. I'll check LWD, I've had good exp with them before.

while you are there pick up a 3.5lb connector....easy mod with the .25cent polish job and you are set....and dont forget the glock tool. :)
