G19 & G26 bbl lengths

Wow, not bad!

Alex, I have been in touch with the same company contemplating a G26. My wallet's like "nooooooo!" but my brain is saying "Doooo it"
 
I like that these guys are importing the G19 and such with legal length barrels. That way we aren't losing the prohib, in Canada ones that already exist. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people take prohibs and turn them into restricted (ones already here). that just makes for less and less of them. those of us that are 12-6'd really hate that!!!!!!!

Got to hand it to QUESTAR, there doing a great servce to people (as well as other things) wanting compact and subcompact guns who don't have a 12(6). Great job Mark.
 
I'm impressed too. I hope the paperwork doesn't become such a hassle that they decide not to continue this service. I wish you well Questar, we've needed this service in Canada for a long time. 8)

Bartledan - Yeah you get used to the silver pretty quick. I used to have one that was silver in that glock. I changed it because it was longer than 106 and someone on the board needed one in a hurry. I decided that if I was getting another I might as well spend the extra $10 for a black one while I was at it. That one is stainless with a black epoxy coating, which has stood up quite well.

Just buy every prohib in Canada and problem solved ! reason why the turn rrestricted is because:

1- Their prices are insane and no 12-6 wants to pay big $$$ for a used 2nd gen. Glock.

2- Some are just too common or just to crappy (think PPKs) and since 12-6's owners would just pay 100-200$ for them, there're kids out there ready to pay for a sub-compact gun.

Seriously I'll take a pic of my G29 with its extended barrel and you'll see guys that it doesnt look that bad. Btw, mine was imported brand new from the US. It's not a former overpriced "prohib" turned restricted.

snubbing PPK's? mine is one of the most accurate guns I've ever owned. :p And if the 12-6 guns are too expensive for those of that own them, then wouldn't it be just as expensive to buy one and then convert it to restricted? (actually more cause you'd have to buy a new barrel for it too)
 
Questar Glocks

Some info I think I should pass on. The restricted barrels on the prohib Glocks that Questar is selling, are indeed Bar Sto barrels. Considering the price and quality I think it's a great deal.

i paid 1700$ for a brand new G29 with 4 restricted barrel (2x Bar-Sto 10mm, 357sig and 9x23). I've seen G19s going for 1000$ and these were 2nd generation, with 1000+ rounds. It's actually a better deal to import a new one with barrel but most people want to take the easy route which is buying domestic and just swapping the barrel at their gunshop.

Actually, In this case the easy route is to buy the gun already with the restricted barrel installed. Bar Sto sells in stock barrels for $215 to $265US not including shipping and duty and thats not for a 4.25" length, which is considered a custom item. Questar sells the G26 for $1099,if you bought the barrel seperately, it would cost at least $325 CAN landed, which I believe I'm underestimating, that leaves $775 for a brand new G26 with no hassles. I consider it a pretty good deal.
 
I had the federal arms threaded in my G19 and had major feeding problems. It seems like I just got lucky, as many Glock users in the states use the FA barrels without trouble. I had it fixed and it worked great, but I'd still recommend going with the barsto option if you can.

I should take a better pic of mine with the 106mm barrel to show customers until you have one in stock yourself.

I agree... Bar-Sto is a superior barrel... but the Federal Arms are quite acceptable. The advantage is, they cost less than the Bar-Sto and they are available immediately. It's another option for people to consider.

I have a S&W 5906 with the 106mm Bar-Sto (essentially it extends out the exact same as the 106mm does on a Glock 19). I'll take a pic tomorrow to show that one.

That is another modified "Prohib" that we import... the S&W5946 or the S&W5906 with a Bar-Sto 106mm barrel installed. They are a fantastic gun!
