G19X is HERE!!!!

I’m not sure I understand the appeal of the G19X. It’s a compact pistol that has been essentially de-compacted in the grip area, while still only offering the same 10round capacity... forgive me if I can’t taste the look-aid but why would one want this over a regular G19?

Why would anyone want a G19, or another compact pistol made for carry in a country where we aren't allowed to carry? Because we want to. I own both now.

Because the regular G19 grip is too short for my mitts... YMMV, but I like the taste of this particular Kool-aid!

Same. For me its the perfect combination of slide/frame.

X3. I liked everything about the G19 except the short pistol grip. I was set to buy one. But it really bugged me. Then this came along.

Sorry, but it's almost as ugly as a High Point

Whoa. Easy there. Them's fighting words!! I kind of like it. I can handle two slightly off FDE colours. The HK FDE rifles are too mismatched for me. But I don't mind this. It will be interesting to see how it actually looks in real life.

Yo dis glizzy strait up tite and clean. I want dis hammer when my soundcloud blow up

Between you and Kamlooky, I don't know. The first time I read posts from either one of you guys I had to check to make sure the beer I was drinking wasn't vodka. My second theory was that I was having some sort of stroke and the language centres in my brain were fried. I still hold onto that second theory as a possibility, only not on my end!!

that pic above actually makes it look pretty nice, in the first pic it looked like crap. I think I'll snag one up when they start popping up on EE like G19's are now :)

The only reason that there are suddenly so many G19s listed on the EE is because their owners would rather have an 19X now that they are available. All of those G19s popped up 2 days ago. The 19X was announced as ready for Canadian sales at the same time..... Coincidence? I don't think so.

I'm sure it was just a "change in interests".

cause i reallllllllllllllllllllllly dislike the finger groves on those guns!!!!

i must admit i havnt been this excited to have a gun clear the CFO in a long time!

I've been seeing them on EE shortly after they were available. Same thing will happen with 19x

The Glock 19 sell off started when the G19 Canadian Edition was released for $700. I bought an FDE Gen 4 G19 for $650 a little over a month ago. That gun was an easy $1000 6 months ago

You're joking right?

For a collector piece the exact version that was submitted for the military trials is considered a good thing. These won’t likely have any collectibility if you collect glocks. For shooting, the safety is a useless feature that was a requirement for the military contract.

I personally like the version we are getting without the safety.

Collectibility.... Glocks....

Collectibility.... Glocks....

Not my thing either. But apparently some do. Wanting the exact same version that was submitted does seem desirable to some. I prefere not having a manual safety on a gun designed not to have one. Plus I view glocks as utilitarian pistols and not Collector’s pistols.

The MHS requirement changed multiple times during the course of selection. There were multiple versions submitted by all the manufacturers. As you realized the Sig MHS gun is optic ready, so Glock would've submitted a MOS version as well.

FN America confirmed with me that their MHS submission was also optic ready, yet the 509 pistol based on the MHS pistol is not.
