G20 range report

Are there any standard barrel length G29's in Canada for 12(6) shooters to buy?

Wikipedia says the G29 was introduced in 1997. Was the importation of prohibs stopped as of Dec 1 '98, or sometime before? If it was in '98, in theory there could be some.

OD Glock 20

I just got my spare Lone Wolf G20 slide back from Tactical Ordnance. I had them Gunkote the slide OD and sandblast the exposed part of the barrel at the ejection port to a matte finish. Its a fuzzy picture but the colors are accurately reproduced.

What the hel*, I'll just keep carrying my 4" .357 Magnum revolver for ATC field work. The .357 Magnum is a better cartridge than the 10mm for wilderness defense anyway! :D

Flame suit on :runaway:

To quote Massad Ayoob, "The 10mm's power exceeds that of the .357 Mag. and encroaches into .41 Mag. territory. Winchester's Silvertip line shows almost identical ballistics between the .41 Mag. and the 10mm: Each sends a 175 gr. bullet out of the muzzle at 1,250 to 1,275 fps."

and

"The big Glock 20 in this caliber was the backwoods choice of gun expert Chuck Karwan, who determined that with all 15 rounds in its pre-ban magazine and a 16th in its firing chamber, it carried more potential foot-pounds of energy on board when fully loaded than any Magnum revolver."

This would inlcude the combined energy of the 6 rounds in a Ruger .454 Casull.

The G20 in neutered form holds 10 rounds of 10MM (and Silvertips are not the hottest round out there). A S&W 627-8 holds 8 rounds of .357.

Your not the sucker I went back to that threat Geo posted and read most of it...

I skipped over the long tirades of some of the posters due to their ....'s

Now reading that thred again is being a sucker...

Thanks Geo I'm going to get you back some how some day...

B, could not have said it better.

I too was looking for a 10mm and did not want a glock, but having little other options available at the time, bought the G20 from a fellow CGN'er and have had the most fun anyone can have with a firearm. 10mm is like an orgasm with a trigger..........

Lorax I really like the serrations on the front of the slide.

I hear far to often people complaining about why would anyone need then.

As far as I am concerned they are one of the best features that you can have on a semi-auto.

Just came back from the range I gave my G29 a go today...

I had installed a new Arotech fiber optic front sight so had to give it a go but unfortunately I forgot my glock adjustable sight adjuster tool at home so it is now with the new sight hitting a bit low at all distances but awesome groups.

The 10mm is the King of the standard production semi-auto rounds...
