Dear Milsurp Friends,

I have an acquaintance with a 1942 dot marked G33/40, matching with exception of a different four digit bolt head. Bore was a little dirty, think it would clean up well, no pitting that I could see. I have only seen one of these before on CGN and never one in real life.

Second one is a full 71/84 made Danzig 1887, all matching, shiny bore, stock markings and regimental mark on the top of buttplate.

German stuff isn't my specialty beyond recognition. Question is, what is the range that these would go for? Would like to give my friend a ballpark and I am not up on the value of these, although I have the impression the G33/40 is a little more rare and desirable.

Any help/comments/opinions would be welcome.

Thanks

I have no idea on the older one.
The G33/40 is pretty rare here. One was just sold on the EE a week or so agao, I think it went to 1400. Was also a bolt mismatch. Condition is everything. Also does it have its original sight hood and cleaning rod? Also pulled down to verify all numbers? But somewhere between 1000 and 1400 would be my guess.

I sold a mismatched G33/40 dot, 1941 (Bottom) last year at the Truro show.
I kept the matching 945, 1940 (Top) with an interesting three piece stock.
I first put the 1941 on this site but didn't gat any bites.
I need a middle barrel band, front sight protectors, and cleaning rod for my Czech VZ 33 which was manufactured as a Police carbine.

Assuming the 71/84 is still in full military configuration probably $500-800 depending on condition and all matching or not.

If its been "bubba'd think more like $150-300.

G33's have crazy prices in Canada because they are rare (1500-3000). Usually bolt MM are at the bottom range and all matching at the top.

I ordered mine from the US and the importer sent it in the mail to me this week, so I should have more info next week.

Little mad at my importer right now because they "lost" an ar42 zf41 sniper. I am interested in seeing how that works out.

My observations are a bit different. There is an incorrect mismatch that has been listed for 3K for 2 to 3 years in Canada and still no takers or suckers.

You see another mismatched one come up for 1K and the next week the guy who bought it tries to flip it for 2K without any success because the stock looks like a piece of rotten wood and other issues.

Asking prices are not the same as the sold price! A fool and his money soon part! Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!

By 'pretty rare here' if you mean on CGN, yes. The price gouges sometimes on the EE shows that this is the only place hyperinflation effects.

1500 - 3000 and 1000 - 1400 oh please! I've seen two of these in the last year at two different gunshows for 650 - 900.
