G36 10/22 stock at Shot Show

Last edited:
I have a couple of questions on these kits:

1) When the 10/22 receiver is mounted into the new stock, is it easily removeable? I want to buy a kit and use a stock 10/22 at first, then upgrade to a better barrel when funds allow. If the installation is semi-permanent, it will be a PITA to swap the barrel out at a later date.

2) Has anybody confirmed what barrel length is used in the kit shown in the videos from SHOT? I have seen both 16" and 18.5" mentioned and would like to know so I can decide if I buy a standard 18.5" barrelled 10/22 or if I step up to the carbine with the 16" barrel.

Thanks,
Mark

If it is like the other promag stocks, the receiver will come out very easily. There is only 9 bolts in the Archangel carbine kit and 6 are in the top piece.

From the promo material and pics, the rifle pictured has the factory 18.5" barrel.

Because of the folding stock approx 16.5" is needed to make min length. If you are willing to pin the stock, then you can go shorter.

I note that the advertising plaque refers to a dummy suppressor that fits an 18.5" barrel. I can't see the dummy suppressor in the picture of the packaging, but I can see the flash hider.

Any idea if the dummy suppressor is part of the package or if it is an optional accessory?

So any news on whether ProMag was able to make the March 1st shipping time to distributors?

According to a member on RFC who is in contact with them etc... said it has been postponed as they initially designed it to only accept the promag magazines. But they've since decided to change that and have made a production change so they will accept all standard 10/22 magazines etc... and there for, the release date was pushed back.

Whether their is any truth to that or not I cannot say, I'm simply writing here what I read there in their tactical style 10/22 page in what they called their official G36 thread etc...
