And this matters to the 15 G36 owners in the country .... that can use 5 instead of 10rd LAR mags.

Yup. I thought it was interesting though.
From my own research, the G36/SL8 Pmags that Magpul tried to develop reached prototype and pre-production stages only - the project was never commercialized for the US - this was a few years ago.
Looks like something may yet again happen for the EU market:

These also work in all of the SL-8's in the country I believe.
That raises the number of happy people to 30!

Looking at the mag it appears that you'd still have to adapt the SL8 magwell to fit.
On the up side it also appears that the cross section of the magwell sports a reduced profile... it may just fit in a AR single/double mag holder now?

That's a funky looking mag. Maybe more people will get into the SL8 scene based on the new mag!
