CanadianAR is correct.
The G43 bcd factory got bombed (short production life).
Walther had two G43 plants - regular and Ng plant (Concentration Camp production - mostly just an assembly plant - really sad story is that Canadians and the Brits bombed a ship of escaping camp survivors at the end of the war, mistaking it as a boat full of escaping SS).
duv/qve are the same producer, just used two different codes.
The G43 was supposed to replace these rifles, so in a way, it was the only semi-auto rifle issued in larger numbers. However, due to other rifle development, eventually the MP44 would have replaced the K98 in the end (advantage of full/semi capability and a larger mag capacity, etc.).
This is probably one of many reasons why they lost the war. They had three rifle designs competing for resources all at the same time (1942 which was the beginning of the end), all three designs were being made with the intention or replacing the bolt action K98 (FG42, G43, Mkb42(H) )
Sorry, MP44 - later design improvement of the Mkb42(H)
