To be honest I cannot even recall what size we used as it has been years and my machinist did the work.
That being said, as guys do the conversion with dremel tools I suspect any reasonable size bit should work. A quarter inch sounds reasonable.

I have to ask if I install the AR adapter can I use the regular mags, not factory but the tapco ones??

You will need to remove the adaptor first.

I found out I cannot use the standard magazine after it's milled, going to have to install the magazine and you JB weld or some other filler to make a feed ramp

I lost the adapter for a spell, and tried to convert it, lost the original stock also haha, I put things down and they walk, got the stock gonna inlet it this weekend, and the adapter I have it now, but ones you mill it out the rounds won't angle I to the chamber
