Galena Cooling Compound

Just wondering if anyone has used this for lubing bullets.
I have some tubes of Microlube, and it does have a similar waxy appearance and texture.

I have used it . Worked well but sticky. My source ran out but 30 years ago . LOL

Have you looked into making Ben's red? I haven't used it in rifle but it works awesome for all my pistol stuff.

I used some almost a half century back, it did well enough for my light .38 loads.

Thanks guys, I inherited about 15 lbs of the stuff. I sold it along with a Star Universal Press, and just wanted to make sure it was usable as bullet lube, hated the thought of shipping it all for naught.

Yes, galena is simply the ore of lead, so obviously it has lead in it, or is basically lead and likely the reason the rail roads quit using it on their curved rails.

Galena was used as wheel bearing grease for railcars . These types of wheel bearings were phased out of service in the 80's. They had a tendency to overheat (hotbox) and cause derailments.
