Howdy folks.
I'm hoping one of you fine CGN'rs can help a fella out. I'm looking to find some downloadable game calls that I can use to create an iPod playlist. Not so much the 2 second .wav files of grunts and stuff, but rather a longer track in the 5 minute to several hours range that would include a variety of calls, rattles, and silence.
My intention is to throw together a poor man's electronic game call. I've got an iPod mini, a rechargeable speaker the size of a butter tart, and a ziplock bag. I've tried it with music and it works quite well. It's clear (though quiet) several hundred yards back, even in the ziplock. At that volume it lasts for over 3 hours.
I hunt in the thick stuff where 350 degrees around me is only 30 yards visibility or less, but I usually have a decent shooting lane in the remaining ten degrees that stretches to a hundred yards or so. This is where I envision my record setting buck striding out broadside and waiting for me to do my part. But instead, they spend their time in the other 350 degrees at 30.1 yards, taunting me ;-P
Soooo, my thought was, I could take my Ziplock 3000 (tm) out to somewhere in that shooting lane, soak it in scent killer, and let it squawk for a few hours to see if it draws out deerzilla (or just more red squirrels). Worth a try, given the cost I figure.
Anyway, so do any of you know where I could find some tracks?
