game camera batteries

what kind of batteries are you using in your game cams? Anyone using Ni-MH? I am using Duracell presently but was wondering if the NI-MH would work in them since they are only 1.2VDC.

I run 8X power AA Lithium batteries in my SpyPoint IR-6 game cameras. I have not replaced the batteries in almost a year, STILL show as FULLY charged! Keep in mind that some cams will not recognize the Lithium batteries...

Case in point, my old StealthCams... Thinking I was onto something, I bought the battery conversion cases that snap onto the AA batteries but make them the diameter of a C battery... Installed them into my old StealthCams & they would not even turn on! But if I put the old cheap C batteries back in, it worked...

I use 12volt gell cells and use the plug for the aux battery in. I easily get a season out of them.

Spypoints have always been the best cameras on batteries. I go to Costco and by the Duracell Ultras and can get 6-8 months easy and they have been the best bang for the buck...

I've had the best luck with duracells in my spypoints as well. Put cameras out in may and take down in november, no battery changes needed.

Duracell's rechargeable and regular copper tops are what work best in my Moultrie cams.

AA Lithium Ion; get a year out of mine. I take my old batteries and tect them with the voltage meter, before discarding. They just last an amazing length of service.
