What's everyone using for game cameras that take decent pics that don't cost a fortune? I need to pick up six or so mainly for my remote camp.

I don't know what they are like but I think primos just put out some cheap no frills cameras, they are like $90.00 but they lack a lot of features. most of which I don't use anyways

The deal with trail cams is .........you generally get what you pay for...at least that's been my experience

couldn't agree more...

i now have spypoints Iron 9 and 12's and they take really great pictures! quality is next to none and they are stealthy, no lights nothing

does anyone here own the new type of game camera with the cellular option? i have been thinking about getting one, but is it worth the price and does it work well?

The issue with these is they generally require a subscription fee....which blows....not sure about reliability or durability! Expensive to get into. But if you are long distance away may be cheaper and more timely than driving for hrs to check cards and batteries. Check trailcampro.com they usually have good reviews for most mfg'ers and types

most probablly gonna stick to the 9 10 and 12 Mp i have from spy point, i dont need that extra coverage wirelessly but it is def a plus..

I've had about every kind and the ones that didn't break down managed to get stolen. I try buy the best rated middle of the road cameras. Love the bushnell trophy cams, lately been digging the browning cams. Great reviews trailcampro, and for the last 2 years in a row cabelas (US) had a half price sale on Black Friday, so I picked up a couple each time. If you have a US shipping address its a great deal. This year they ran out of the 8mp that was advertised and substituted 10mp!

I have three Moultrie cameras.
the first one is a 2006 model with flash and is still going strong

the second moultrie is a d55 and has spent every hunting season outdoors since 2009 and is still going strong

the newest member is a moultrie A5 that is about a year old.

I am sure there are lots of other great camera brands available but my Moultries work great and were all priced under $ 100

Oh and fair warning, my Wildgame innovations trail cameras work great but they eat batteries

My Bushnell HD's are great

I have 2 Moultries with mixed results, 1 failed first season one still going strong

Simmons are very basic but they work

Have a Cuddeback that so far impresses

And I have some Bushnell but not HD and don't waste your money

we run the Uway MB600 cellulars. The worst part about them is that you don't want to go back to using the traditional non-cellular models. They are so convenient it isn't funny. We have properties 30 mins to 1 hour away and having pictures sent to your phone or email in real-time is a huge cost savings. The truck fuel alone, not to mention your time is worth it.

Rogers plans are $15.75 per month and the Telus plans are $20. You don't have to pay all year. You can shut them down during the off-season and these plans don't have anything to do with your existing cell phone provider. Telus seems to have way more reliable networks in my part of Ontario but the Rogers cams work fine too.

I would recommend the Moultrie cameras. I have quite a few different ones (Spypoint,Wildgame,Browning, etc ...). For a low to average price the Moultrie cameras seem to give the best pics, battery life and reliability within that price range. I have some old Moultries that are running D cells, so not exactly new, a good testament to their durability.

I grabbed four moultrie 990I's this past season and the preliminary run is good. Lots of features, black out so no flash, hide well and come ready for a python cable, great battery life (using lithium ion batteries) . I have no experience with other brands so all I can say is so far I like these.
Really considering one of the cellular units at some point.
