game ranger cmj bullets

I shoot the flatnose cmj frontier 30 cal bullets in my 308.
Good enough stuff for me sub moa at the bench for 100m. I don't have my particular load recipe with me, cause I'm at work, but if you really need to know, pm me to remind me...

l dont really need the reloading data nathanenge ,but if have you shot any game with these and if so what weight in your 308 and speed ,and how did they stay together as l have never heard of these till today and would like to know how they perform

The designs were based on the principle that maximum straight-line penetration is reached by the use of very heavy bullet shot at slower velocities. The flat metplate of the bullet is designed to cause maximum trauma. The bullet was designed a heavy-duty big stopper. The first bullet in the range was .458,600gr for the Winchester Magnum. Improving the stopping power of this cartridge tremendously. Almost two years of testing and re-designing went into the project before the team was happy with what the bullet could do.

From the 600gr 458 CS Game Ranger, the other bullets followed in 416, 375, 9, 3, 30 Cal, 303 and late in 2004 the three bullets for the 454 Casull/460 S&W were introduced.

so what we basically have is a copper coated solid,so is there a hardness rating on these bullets that anyone knows about?and does anyone have a pic of one retrieved from an animal or did they just go through?
 
Pounder bought some to try in his .458, and he was happy with them, in that he wanted a bullet he could shoot regularly which was cheaper than the 450 gr. X's. the chrony clocked them at 1800 if memory serves - I wasn't there I just got the blow by blow later. Accuracy was acceptable - all he's worried about is 50 yards and in. No meat has fallen to them yet.

I have some of the 230 gr .311s.

When sectioned, the jacket is actually thicker than most 30 cal jackets, and certainly thicker than any 311 I have seen.

Hi Larry,

No, not as yet. Only got them last fall.

A fellow up here going bear hunting this Spring is going to try them and Stever Redgewell's 200 gr spitzer in his 303 Br.

We'll get back to you on both of them.
