I think that this year its finally time I purchase a game trail camera but since I am not familiar with any of them I would like to ask you guys WHO HAVE THEM which ones are good and which ones I should stay away from.

I have heard that some of the expensive ones are really crappy and that there are some you can buy with $100 that work great.

I would appreciate any information.

Bass Pro Shop has some Moultrie trail camera's for between $150 to $200 that are pretty good. Don't waste your money on the 35mm models go with a digital as you get a lot of useless pics with these type of cameras. They also eat batteries especially in the cold.

I picked up a moultrie game spy 4.1mp for $100 at Wally World in the states. Amazing pics for the price.

I have a Moultrie Gamespy D40 (w/flash 4 mp.) it takes very good photo's. UNTIL the flash took a S*#T. I bought it middle of december and the flash died the first week of january! I called the 800 number for Moultrie....have to ship it to Alabama for warranty. I bought it at the bass pro in the states when I went to a hockey tournament. Almost a 6hr. drive round trip if I want to try and return it to the store........just my luck!

I have the flash model. The 6 D-cell batteries lasted a little over 3 weeks before I replaced them. I got around 70 pics with about half being at night. When I changed the batteries, the power meter indicated 38% remaining. The only issue I have is with the bungie cords that are used to attach it to a tree. They are rather slim and sometimes not long enough. I purchased 5 feet of larger diameter bungie cord (1/4" or so), and attached the hooks to them. Other than that, no worries!

Here's a couple more pics.
