Hi,

Bought a Gamo Bone Collector for plinking and pest control. Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the gun (made in Spain), nice stock, the trigger is very smooth, the gun is light and powerful.

The only thing is the Gamo scope and rings seems very cheap since they cannot hold their adjustment.. Any suggestions for an aftermarket scope and rings ?

This guns just begs to hold its accuracy ...:)

Thanks in advance for any idea...

Is your gun broken in yet? Accuracy is liable to be hit and miss (damn that's a nice pun) until it's broken in. Couple of tins of pellets makes a world of difference. Having said that, the cheap scope I got with a Crosman Fury lasted about 500 shots before I noticed a glass-like rattling coming from inside the scope. No wonder I was having trouble. Changed the scope out for a better one and the problem disappeared. A little locktite appled very sparingly directly to the dovetail clamps will help keep the scope from moving. The recoil of a high powered airgun is much harder on scopes than a powder burner. The scopes move around more on my airguns than the scopes do on my 375H&H and 416Rem.
There are probably at least a hundred more reasons for your accuracy issues. I'm new to this airgunning game. Lots of people here that have a lot more smarts than me. I'm sure they will chime in too.

Hi,

Bought a Gamo Bone Collector for plinking and pest control.

I have the Gamo Hornet Which series of Bone Collector do you have???? My hornet is 1000fps w/lead 1200 w/PBA. I use Gamo Lethal & Rocket ammo in mine, the Lethal is 5.56g and will punch a hole through a metal sign. I have killed rabbits with them.

My Hornet came with a 4x32 scope, which I now have on my Savage .22, it holds its accuracy really nicely, but it took me to having to put strips of rubber between the scope and the rings.

Hello,

I have the 1300 fps Bone Collector bought it at Le Baron but here is a link to the Cabella's page to have a look at the model.

I understand that the gun is still very new and not broken-inn yet, so the groupings will get better and better, and the pellets brands and specifications can make a great difference in groupings. For now as I mentionned, I am looking for a suggestion regarding an adequate Scope and rings for this air-rifle.

Thanks

Al

Bone Whisper is the series, not the style. Cabelas doens't know the difference. check Gamo: http://www.gamousa.com/family.aspx?familyID=89
You have the Bull Whisper .177

The Bull Whisper is a newer model with a new noise and muzzle blast reducer integrated into a bigger bull barrel. I have the previous model with standard bull barrel. I bought it at Le Baron.. Thanks I will check the Hawke scope and hawke rings.

You need a better scope, 1-piece rings/mount, and a little lock tite on the thread of the stop pin that goes through the scope base. A heavier pellet may also be preferred. Just watched Kenny's review on youtube "myairgunrevirews". The stock rings were sliding all over the place due to the violet recoil of the gas piston.
