Hi guys,

Found this lot on Saturday. The pillow case really stuck out as it is garish but neat at the same time. I believe this is all from one guys career but not sure. Also - the goggles, are they German? I didn't get them but am having them picked up today hopefully.

The German cross looks religious. I am the Way.

Grizz

Yes, it's Jesus and the 12 disciples, probably at the last supper?

www.schreibmayr.de/Devotionalien/Kreuze/Bronzekreuz--Ich-bin-der-Weg-.html

Communion cross "I AM THE WAY", relief representation with the sacrament motif, 7.5 x 9.5 cm. Solid handwork made of solid bronze. The surface of the communion souvenir is patinated and then polished. A transparent protective varnish prevents oxidation. The bronze crosses are delivered in free individual packaging with a communion sticker.

First communion souvenirs made of solid bronze are sophisticated gifts with lasting value and a sign of memory. The simply designed symbolism and design language was coordinated with the preparation for first communion. Only available from Schreibmayr

So I'm going to assume that isn't that old as it's only available from that website?

Yes she threw that in with the rest, it wasn't in the bag. I was thinking perhaps he was stationed in Germany and it came from there, plus the goggles. There was an Elks medallion with a name and 1953 on it so I figured that was the guy - the Elks branch was in Brandon MB, so some of the items make sense if he was in arty. The RCAF items seem to be from maintenance and conversion units from the Sabre era, so again that stuff all matches itself.

I have a very similar set of folding googles that my Dad bought/acquired back around 1960. Mine are definitely German. I've found a WW2 picture on the internet of a German motorcyclist dispatch rider wearing the exact same pair.

For $10 you can't go wrong.

The googles look like a pair my dad has used for acetylene welding since the 1970's. Now, my dad was a big militaria collector back in the day so it's possible that his goggles and these ones are German but idk. Can you find any markings on them?

I saw nothing on them - there was tape on them though.
