Garand bayonets

I have 2 types of these, one the old style(short) and one the new style (M5A1) with M8A1 sheath, what do you prefer, its not as though I am going to use it to turn someone into a kebab of course lol, just want to know your opinion, for some reason though, my M5A1 bayonet has grips that fit really badly, there is quite a gap at the ends.

I had both at one time, and I thought the newer one looked good. You could visualize it being used on some hill in Korea. I wish I had hung on to those.

I have an M5A1. It was known for being hard to get off and put on. The M5 definetly looks better than the M1905, M1942, or M1.

My understanding was that the garand was originally made to take the 16in bayonet that was used on the M1903. What a monster of a bayo!

Garand will also take the US Krag bt.

The original long Garand bayonet is awesome but very rare because they were shortened by the army when sword bayonets became less popular with the military.
A Garand with a sword bayoet is one of the all time best zombie weapons.

The M5 Bayonet is just the right size for the M1 Garand. Not too big, not to small.
