Garand for Moose in the Yukon

so we dont have to pin en blocs for hunting? thats awesome!

but are you sure its not like shotguns where you can take the plug out for fun but then when hunting the plug must go back in?

You don't have to pin the mag to shoot it with the legal exemption. But (in alberta at least) It is illegal to hunt with an autoloader that holds more than 5 rounds, per the hunting regs. So although you do not need to pin mags in order to own and shoot a garand in canada, you need pinned mags if you are planning on hunting in alberta(I believe most provinces share this hunting reg as well.).

Driller: Just like shotguns, more ammo for fun, but limited for hunting.

Ah! Now I see the reason for the PM. Disregard my caustic and sarcastic return PM.

Alberta requires a limit of 5 rounds to hunt, hence my desire for 5rd Garand mags. I've got about 150 of the 8's. Just looking to alter a few of them to fit the HUNTING regs.
 
I can show you how to adjust an enbloc to hunt with if you like. I did it with my Garand and it worked. Very easy to do. Just need a file, some pliers and a zip disc cutter. Took me about 20 mins.

You're on. I've got the general idea but the actual mechanics haven't worked (I need some firm measurements). Any help you provide would be highly appreciated.
 
Anytime you are in Bantario, drop in for an M1 Garand clinic / refresher! :D

Dumb question: did you grease your bolt lugs, bolt raceway, op rod track, hammer nose and hammer hooks? Sorry, I had to ask... just cannot help myself :nest:

Always wonderful to hear/read about the M1 Garands and how they are still relevant today!!
