Hello....

I got one of my old M1 Garand's back the other day (...bought it LONG time ago, sold it, got then it back...:dancingbanana:)

The serial number is 595****, putting it in the 1955-1957 range. The bolt is 552**** putting it in the 1954-1956 range. The barrel, however, is in the 653**** range, so I am having a bit of trouble dating it. Does anyone have any idea of the year range of this barrel?

Any info would be super!

Thanks!

Ty

There should be an actual date stamped on the barrel that you can see when you #### back the op rod- at least there's one on all the M1s I've seen.

The bolts & barrels are NOT SERIALED.

Those are DRAWING NUMBERS.

Somewhere in the gov't files is a sealed drawing which corresponds to those numbers.

Your barrel should have a month & year visable when the bolt is locked back hidden ordinarily by the op-rod.
