Garand Parts Price Advice Please (that's a mouthful)

Great comments in this thread. I'm also building a Garand and it floors me that a friggin gas tube can go for that kind of money. However, I see that Numrich has a good selection of parts and a gas tube setup costs about $220. Of course the max you can import into Canada from Numrich in one order is $200 so you have to split that into two orders. Oh, and there's a $25 surcharge per order for international orders (including Canada) and UPS likes to get paid $30 when they visit your door. And I almost forgot, you may have to pay duty. Hey, wait a minute...

a metal cap that sealed the screw on the front sight so the GIs didnt touch the screw but after 42 they were like oh no ones touching them anyways so they just stopped sealing the crews on the front sight.
No i dont have the seal. In fact ive never seen one. Were they metal or rubber. Purple?

Over time you can usually find the parts you need to complete a Garand build. Some parts are very costly, but you are building a gun that was designed in 1936 and went out of production in the 1960's. I have six Breda Garand receiver builds on going. Building takes time and the results always turn out better than you think.

This one of those threads that fustrate me. I sit here in Texas the CMP match director of my gun club and I run several Garand matches a year. I know at least ten good sources for Garand parts but there is that border thing. It does work the same the other way a Long Lee (Medford or Enfield) will set you back about $1500 if you can ever find one down here.
