Garand receiver

Hey guys here's a noob question. Would a Garand receiver fit on a Norinco platform?

There is no .308 Garand receiver. You just rebarrel them to .308. The M305 barrel will screw on an M1 receiver but the similarity ends about there. M1 bolt's longer than 14. The op rod spring is in the way of feed. It just goes on and on. You would have an M1 rear and an M14 front half. That'd be cute...

There are very few interchangeable parts (ie. 2 or 3) between the Garand and the M14.

Isn't the trigger assy is the same between the m1 and the m14 as well? I think just about all the other parts that go inside the receiver are different between the two.

Nope not the same. A couple of parts ie hammer, spring, safety.

as you are probably aware, there's a 1/2 inch difference between the 308 and the 06- that alone counts for most of the non- interchangeability between the two rifles-longer receiver, bolt, etc- that alone dictates a different trigger group-certain parts may be modified by clipping or modifying, but these are indeed few- about the closest garand m14 hybrid you'll see will be one of the "gestation " models with a garand top end modified to take a bar magazine- other than that- it's a lost cause- or a bm59
