Gonna get a trigger job done and Id rather have good parts going into it. Hard to get trigger stuff from the states so can anyone lemme know about the italian connection I heard about a while ago

I have the NEA bolt release I'm a left handed shooter so it does not make a huge difference for me because the charging handle is on the same side as my support hand but it is nice to have options As for the mag release I don't think it is necessary but if the NEA becomes available I will probably get one just to give it the modern feel

I had Smith Enterprises do the full treatment to one of my Garand trigger groups. While I have NOS to chose from, I actually used a Norinco hammer and trigger because the parts were to be re-heat treated anyways (my assesment is good steel but poor original factory heat treatment).

If you are not having a heat treatment done as part of a trigger job, I strongly recommend the BM59 trigger as a starting point - these were used in automatic mode as well; consequently, the sear is a much beefier part.

Before doing a trigger job, I would also suggest purchasing an SEI trigger pin/spring kit and seeing how you like the results first.

I think that I may have a spare BM59 trigger assembly kicking around, so PM me if you're interest... ...I'll see if I've got a pic kicking around and, if so, will post.

"...Hard to get trigger stuff from..." Shouldn't be. M1 Rifle parts have no U.S. government export restrictions. BM59 parts, however, do.
Mind you, when it comes to the M1 Rifle, the ammo and barrel are more important than the trigger. There's no point having a really good trigger on a rifle with a mediocre barrel using mediocre ammo.
