Garand valuation

I have one of the old danish import springfield with the var barrel. Rifle functions beautifully , and shoots very nice. I have never been fond of the beech stock on it.

What should a guy look for as far as a cobbled together one for people looking to purchase? Is there any signs of one put together in a garage vs the old imported ones?

Some of the people here that specialize in M1 Garand rifles, build a very good product
A consideration should be given to the way they use very nice parts to do it

Its good to have a selection of parts on hand to get proper fit and function. Some trial fitting/ adjustment is often necessary, esp handguards and gas cyl locks which are often overlooked. I saw one on the EE sometime ago where the "builder" had managed to get the front handguard liner installed upside down.;)
