We tested the new Garmin XERO C1 Chronograph in the office today.

Test rifle was a Feinwerkbau P70 and pellets were H&N Diablo Sport .177.

Press PWR(Power) - Follow alignment diagram 1. Press New Session. 2. Select Mode 3. Follow on-screen instructions to enter projectile info. 4. OK

Shot Data: Chrono records each shot. You can press OK, and select DATA FIELDS to change the information displayed in each data field.

We only made 5 shots all of which were recorded. Session summary showed Max, Minimum, Average and Standard Deviation.

We will be using this as it is simple to use as well as compact and backed by Garmin.

Posting to site will be made after BOs are filled. We ordered a lot so you can call or email us for new orders.

I used mine last weekend for some needed speed testing for a new load in my 444. Took out my 44 mag, and 6.5cm as well to test speed on some loads.

Overall approx 100 rounds fired. Was easy to capture speeds, and then go into a new session for a new powder load. Quick simple few buttons press.

At the end of the day I was able to get all the data onto the phone, and edit, add info onto the strings, like powder, bullets, etc, and then export it all so I can save it in my files.

Dang this thing is easy to set up, and use. Finally a product the regular guy can get behind and use right out of the box.

If your on the fence to needing one, don't hesitate at all. These things are amazing.

No it's not hype. We have Labradars(dealer), Bullet Seekers(dealer), many chronographs including high-end German kit and the Garmin is easier to use than any. Also more versatile in application.

I have a Labradar, not going to dump it but I don't see much of a future for them. All they really had to do was develop a proper UI and a better app. Why the hell should I have to keep a separate file that is incompatible with the device for all my load info?? I have nearly 200 sessions I can't recall because my note in my phone got deleted, worthless data, wasted components. LR really did #### the bed, now they have to lie in it.

Well, all the chrono brands should be shaking now as Garmin is not a small company, soon they will be the Benchmark and all the others will have to battle a giant to co-exist. I will keep my LabRadar too but I can predict it will be my backup as soon as the garmin arrives.

Hmmm. While I am not a fussy guy, I do have a chronograph, a Caldwell. Works ok for what I use it for. However, I'm not so narrow-minded that the new Garmin doesn't have a old boy like me interested. I love reloading and shooting, so using something that is simple and easy to use would likely increase my pleasure. Hmmm.

Lots of shooters have gone entire lifetimes without collecting quality chronograph data on their firearms.

For many of them, it is difficult to come up with a case where that data would be a benefit.

But if you can benefit from chronograph data, the Garmin changes the game completely in its ability to easily collect data on every shot with effectively ZERO constraints.

I agree with that statement. I am not chasing the FPS side of things, never have. I just get a kick out of seeing what a cartridge will say for speed, plus I am a digital fan. Strictly a toy for me.

for my 6.5 CM I found some interesting data.

I developed all my loads in my rifles without a chrony, even though I always wanted one, I just could not get over the prices, and the user problems to justify the need until the Xero showed up.

Tried a few powders in the 6.5 cm, and it seemed to like two different types with the bullet that I have used. Both were shooting very close to the same accuracy in the multiple times I tested. I test 10 round groups at 100 m, and usually 50 rounds per when things get this close. Yea I know components, but to me its trigger time.

With the new to my Xero, I ran both powders for some testing, and interestingly enough, same weight in grains. One ran lower SD numbers, and ES and over 100 fps faster. One running just below 2800 fps, and the other just over 2900 pfs. Found this very interesting. Decided to go with the faster speed, and the lower SD numbers going forward. Everything else was the same on these rounds, and only the powder type was different.

Plugged the data into the range finder and ran a 10 shot group at 500m, then a 10 shot group at 1000m. At the 500m mark the wind didn't bother me too much and a quick calculation put me where I needed to be. The 1000m mark I needed 2 rounds to get me to the metal plate. I have never shot that far in that much wind before and needed 32 mil of holding using the 139 gr scenar. Fun and at the same time educational.

The ballistic solution seems off to me. Are you sure it wasn't 32 MOA? 32mrad is way to much for a 139gr 6.5mm going 2900fps at 1000m.
