Garmin GPS Map 62T?

Does anyone have a Garmin GPS Map 62T?

How do you like it?

Pros?

Cons?

If you're buying new, the GPSMAP64 has a micro SD card slot, so depending on what you're planning on doing with it it could be better for you down the road.

The 62 and 64 are both good units.

Check out some reviews on amazon, some people get pretty detailed and nit picky but you might find somethings that you know you wont like about it.

What do you plan on using it for?

I bought a Garmin 62s last summer and used it for hunting last fall and really like it. I purchased it from gpscity dot ca and ordered a package deal with the gps and the Ontario backcountry map card as well.

I like the fact that I can press the buttons with gloves on. With the newer touch screens, you have to take your gloves off.

I have a Garmin GPSmap 62st. It comes pre-loaded with Canadian topo map. Good reception, even under heavi cover. Big pluss is being rain-proof, and useable with the gloves on. To me, the best feature is being able to mark my location and mark locations baased on co-ordinates.
The map it comes with, well, not so great. When I am off the popular trails, the smaller trails and some part of cutlines and snowmobile trails are not on the map. Most of the time, I was hiking down a trail, that is not on the map. Getting to another trail, that is also not on the map. Creeks and ponds are also missing. So, mostly the map is just a blank page. The good thing is, it marks your tracks on that blank map, so when I zoom out, it gives me a pretty good picture how I got there.
I don't have any experience with other off-road GPS units. Besides the map it comes with not very good, I think it's a good unit. It's good enough to take it with me every time, to go up North and find my way.

I also have a 62 st and it is great. I use it for hunting have been in extrem bad weather for week at a time and after over 5 years, it still works like new. The only thing I could say wrong about it, is that with all the fancy intergrated sensor (pressure, magnetic north, etc.) it seems a bit power hungry. With my older gps I could get a couple days of hunting with 1 set of battery, but with this one, 2 days and your done (that is in good conditions). Keep in mind to have fresh batteries with you and go where others can't. Garmin all the way.
