Garmin Xero Chrony

loving the Xero!

Is it just the way the camera is set up, or is the Garmin ahead of the rifle muzzle?

Had another trip to the "range" today (Aug 2). Took my new to me Zastava 7x57 M70 out. Fired six shots, chronyed four - 2 S&B, 2 older R-P.
The S&B clocked at 2488.1 and 2483.5. Rifle kicked fairly hard. (to the left in the pic)

The R-P clocked at 2288.6 and 2278.6. Rifle did not kick as hard. Actually quite pleasant to shoot. (to the right in the pic)

Pics tell the story:

I've used my Xero several times now and it has been flawless. Has not missed a shot yet.

The only thing I've noticed that is not as good as my Caldwell G2 is the Xero takes considerably longer to process each shot. This requires a fairly decent pause between shots. The Cadwell could accept semi-auto shots at a fairly rapid tempo, which was pretty cool. However I wouldn't go back to the Caldwell, the Xero is just too good and too convenient.

Technical question, how do you reupload your data from Xero to ShotView, the last session i had accidentally sign off from the app, and recheck the app its all gone, tried re uploading again to the app but unsuccessful.

Mine came today.

Very nice, easy to understand and compact package.

Paul T bought a battery pack to charge his unit, but an adapter for the cigarette lighter or in newer vehicles which have all of the proper outlets on the dash, I'm just going to use one of them if I forget to charge the unit before leaving home.

I haven't heard anyone who used one dissing it.

You will never need to charge the thing in the field.

I've charged mine once and used it three days so far and it still prob has 1/3 to 1/2 charge left. It doesn't need charged before each range trip and forgetting to charge it once won't make any difference cause it seems to have loads of life on a single charge.

Thanx, that's what I figure as well.

Paul T loves gadgets and is very good with them. Cell phone apps, setting up satellite TV remotes etc.

I'm a bit more hands on than he is and tech challenged.

Just thinking, about 15 years ago, part of my job was programming robots to do specific actions in sequences and patterns.

Doss and ladder programs are so much easier to understand and make sense of.

Don't be afraid to charge it during use.

I had to try this out in the beginning when they just came out, as that was a big question back then for use while charging. Like mentioned above, they seem to last, and last, and last, like the energizer bunny, but no problem charging and using if and when the time ever comes. I carry the charge cable with the unit in a small case, and always have a battery pack at the range.
