Gary is a lousy businessman!

All my dealings have been online and phone and they always take the time to answer your questions and give advice, no matter how busy. There is nothing worse than getting the know it all attitude a lot of places have or are developing. Wanstalls is always my go to first place whenever I can. Gary, Daneil, Gino and everyone else there know the true meaning of customer service I always feel good giving them my money.

So my buddy and I hit the indoor range (DVC) on Saturday morning.

Just around noon we walk into Wanstalls.

Place was packed. I make eye contact with Gary and we proceed to talk.

He shows me a couple of STIs and Nighthawks and the Sig Sauer 226R TacOPS. Just an awesome selection.

I let him know that I have a Norinco 1911, purchased through CanadaAMMO and that I was maybe looking to improve on it a bit...

He says gimme a couple of minutes. He comes back with the Bob Marvel guide rod and NightHawk leafspring upgrade. He says he should have some more internal parts coming soon.

Now why is Gary a lousy businessman? He should have done what another gun store did when I asked about improving my Norinco.

"You wanna put WHAT into a Norinco?" cue the eye roll

"Why bother, just get a REAL 1911..."

Instead of selling me $100 worth of parts (guide rod, recoil spring, leaf spring and WC magazine) he should have been selling me on getting a $1500 Sti or $3000 Nighthawk

OKOKOK... the sarcasm stops.

I just want to thank Gary for taking the time on VERY busy Saturday to answer my questions, help me find solutions and letting touch and feel all the wonderful toys he has...

BTW, I almost lost it when I walked in and was greeted by the Barrett M99 on the counter. I wanted to kiss it! (no, really)

id also like to point out that not just garys a great guy but his staff is a pleasure to deal with as well , Im embarrassed to say that Im not sure of his name , i think its anthony , built my troy t22 chassis up with a new barrel and mag release for me after work and i really appreciate that level of service . Anyway thats enough wanstall love for tonight ! keep up the good work guys . Ernst p.s.. i live downtown and it takes me 45-50 min to get out there and i pass at least three other shops on the way ........

Yeah I had a problem with an order I placed. Impulse bought some mags and accessories around 11am then went out to do some errands and get lunch. Get back around 1:30 and I already have a tracking number waiting for me in my inbox! How could that be! Something had to be wrong! They must not let their staff eat lunch!

Just a note to Wanstalls, traditional web advertising usually isn't enough to convince me to shop somewhere, and I often comparison shop online anyways, so the prices initially soured me somewhat to Wanstalls, as they are a little more than their competitors.

However, after reading threads like this, and others I've seen on CGN, I'm certainly feeling like my next firearm purchase will be from one of the CGN sponsors starting with W. Wanstall's customers have numerous examples of where Wanstalls' staff have lightyears above and beyond the average gun store in terms of customer service.

I had a gen 1 CSA 58 sported that needed the milling for the AR15 mag adapter, after I'd bought the adapter though, CSA let me know they'd give me the adapter for free in exchange for my troubles. My local gun store though, fought me tooth and nail that they shouldn't have to take back the magazine adapter, despite being unopened and never installed. From what I'm reading Wanstalls would have helped me out greatly in this situation and as such, they're on my list to buy from!

This just shows that anecdotes from happy customers goes way way further than advertising!

When i have a problem with a piece or an order i call Gary, .... I have a grin in my face, is that confidence or not... JP.

I am planning a round trip up to Vancouver next year with my Triumph Rocket lll ... Alone ( kind of a looking, buying and have it shipped to my home... And just hop to the next dealer)... One thing is for sure, i will go and visit at least 3 dealers going west, Wanstalls is on the priority list... JP.

Gary is a twisted villain and a monster. He is a cruel and evil man who has been a bad influence in my life. I am serious, and definitely not just saying this because he said "No" to my idea of company-sponsored Batmobiles and walkie-talkies.

as a twisted villain and monster would he not naturally be opposed to all things batman and what they represent? this should have been evident.

perhaps try for more villainous modes of transport, maybe even messenger falcons?
