Hello guys,

looking for an iron sight that I can place at the end of my barrel near the muzzle break.

Can I alter the front sight to use as a sight only without drilling out the barrel?

Thanks

I got a used Bushmaster with 16 inch barrel which I want to install a DMW free float handguard (12 1/4 inch long) that will cover a Troy low profile gas block.

I want to use iron sights for a match that I want to play in. The division I have chosen requires me to have irons.

I know they make a slip on sight for the barrels. Importing would take forever and want it from a local (Canada) dealer. Prefer to have a lightweight option. Willing to butcher up the original sight to accomplish what I need if it will work.

Want irons for a match at the end of the summer only - after will go optic for Tactical division in the states.

I am sure why you will want to go this way.

The front site doesn't obstruct you scope anyway. At worst, it casted a shadow but it is hardly any concern.

Get some Troy front and rears from TSE

Are you refering to 'Bloob tubes' used on High power guns to increase sight radius? If so, you won't find one in Canada.

Don't bother

You can always use the Troys, or flip them when you're done with them.

Use the whole Front Sight Assembly near the muzzle. Drill and tap for a couple of set screws. You will problably need a thin bushing depending on your barrel diameter in the chosen area. It will give you the benefit of a long sight radius.

I have flip up Troy's.

The hand guard doesnt have a rail to mount.

Can you help me change some parts on this pig Mike?

We ended up doing just that, minus the bushing. The FSB is glued and screwed.

I was sceptical at first, but I think it turned out ok.
D should be along to post some photos...

Ya it turned out much better than I thought. I'll post pics tonight for sure. That RRA 2 stage is nice as well. Thanks dude!

Some pics of the AR.

Initial three shots of the rifle at 30 meters after bush-league install. Pretty good if you ask me lol.

All in all I learned quite a bit about AR's and achieved somewhat what I had in mind. I do feel the rifle is too heavy but will give her a couple thousand of rounds to play with it. I kinda got it zeroed - time will tell if it will hold.

Big thanks to Beltfed who helped me out big time.
