I know the gas system runs dry, but.....

Is it ok to put a bit of grease on the threads of the Gas Cylinder Plug?
I was taking my rifle apart to clean it and had a hell of a time getting the plug off. Turns out it had a bit of rust on it.

A small amount of grease here is fine. An anti-seizure type grease is best but just ordinairy synthetic chassis lube type grease works almost as well. Use it sparingly and all will be well with the world ;)

You are all on the right track. I just add a dab of grease on the threads and ALWAYS keep that piston/gas cylinder DRY!! Or else yer #### will fall of- seriously the carbon builds up faster and NOW you have a dirtier system to clean out!

We'll shave your head, make you stand at attention, go nose to nose with you and ask,"Did you join my Marine Corps to suck ####, Private Pyle?" :D
