Is it ok to put a bit of grease on the threads of the Gas Cylinder Plug?
I was taking my rifle apart to clean it and had a hell of a time getting the plug off. Turns out it had a bit of rust on it.

A small amount of grease here is fine. An anti-seizure type grease is best but just ordinairy synthetic chassis lube type grease works almost as well. Use it sparingly and all will be well with the world
You are all on the right track. I just add a dab of grease on the threads and ALWAYS keep that piston/gas cylinder DRY!! Or else yer #### will fall of- seriously the carbon builds up faster and NOW you have a dirtier system to clean out!
We'll shave your head, make you stand at attention, go nose to nose with you and ask,"Did you join my Marine Corps to suck ####, Private Pyle?"
