So lately I've been doing a lot of shorty mods and have been installing gas lock front sights supplied by my clients.
I am running into the following issues and am wondering how widespread this problem is.
I won't reveal manufacturer just yet, I want to see how many folks respond to this.
Upon installation of new gas lock sight, the gas plug is very difficult to install, to the point where it is binding threads and would need to be forced in.
Generally a gas plug should instal easily, without hanging up or binding.
I rechecked the 3 rifles needing glfs installed here by installing their original gas locks and plugs went in smooth as butter.
So the measuring tools came out and I have 5 customer supplied Navy style gas lock front sights that the barrel to gas plug center to center is "un-usabley" out of spec.
Anyone managing to force a gas plug past one of these risks destroying their gas plug and or cylinder. As was the case with one felllows rifle that got sent in witha seized gas plug.
Anyone have any similar experiences?
